DC vs MI IPL Stats : Delhi Capitals defeated Mumbai Indians by 6 wickets in the 13th match of Indian Premier League 2021 at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai and registered their third win of this season while Mumbai Indians suffered their second loss of this season.
Mumbai Indians won the toss and opted to bat first. They had a poor start as opener Quinton de Kock got out for just one run off Marcus Stoinis’ bowling. Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav counter attacked and their 58 runs partnership set the platform for a big score and at 67/1 in 7 overs they’re looking good but leg spinner Amit Mishra changed all the equations as he took 3 wickets in 2 overs spell and all of a sudden Mumbai were reeling at 84/6. Ishan Kishan and Jayant Yadav put some fight and their useful innings of 20 odd runs helped Mumbai Indians to post a fighting total of 137/9 on the board.
In reply Delhi Capitals too had a poor start as Prithvi Shaw got out for just 7 runs off Jayant Yadav bowling. Dhawan and Smith added 53 runs for the second wicket and set the chase in their team’s favour. Dhawan’s 45 runs innings made the chase easy. In the end Delhi lost couple of wickets but in the end Shimron Hetmyer and all rounder Lalit Yadav took team home in the last over and thus Delhi registered their first win against Mumbai since IPL 2019.
