The WPL Auction is scheduled on February 13, 2023 and 409 players are set to go under the hammer during the auctions for the franchises to pick.
The highly anticipated Women’s Premier League is set to have it’s inaugural edition set to commence on March 4, and will run till March 26. The auction for the WPL is scheduled to begin at 2:30 P.M IST on Monday, February 13, 2023. Just like the whole tournament, the auction will also take place in Mumbai.
409 players would be available at the auction and a franchise can purchase upto 18 players. The list of 409 players was also made available to the public along with their base prices. 246 players are Indians, and the rest are overseas players. 409 players available at the auction, 202 players are capped while the rest are uncapped players.
A player’s maximum base price has been set to INR 50 Lakh, while the minimum base price for a player is set at INR 10 Lakh. Only eight Indian cricketers have a base price of INR 50 Lakh, while the remaining 16 players with a similar base price are overseas.
