Eoin Morgan is having a tough time in the IPL 2021 and it seems things are only getting worse for the KKR skipper. Morgan is already struggling to get runs and in the match against Rajasthan Royals he was run out for zero that too without facing a ball.
Watch: Morgan run-out for a diamond duck
Morgan arrived at the crease in the 10th over at the score of for 61 runs for 3 wickets. Kolkata Knight Riders were once again struggling as their top order failed to provide stability. Hence, it was Morgan’s task to stabilize the ship and lay the foundation for the big hitters like Andre Russell to come and explode.
R Tripathi took a single on the last ball of the 10th ball to retain strike. It meant Morgan remained at the non-striker’s end. On the second ball of the 11th over, Tripathi drew the ball down the ground and it hit Morgan’s bat.
The ball deflected from Morgan’s bat, tempting Tripathi to take a run. He took a couple of steps and Morgan responded to him. However, the bowler, Chris Morris was quick enough to reach the ball. Seeing Morris’ quickness, Tripathi decided not to complete the run. But by this time Morgan had already committed to the run. Morris flicked the ball on the stumps before Morgan could come back. Thus, the KKR captain had to return to the dough out without facing a ball.

KKR manage 133 runs in 20 overs
KKR had yet another disappointing show with the bat as the batsmen failed to make an impact. The team scored only 133 runs in 20 overs with R Tripathi the leading run-scorer with 36 runs off 26 balls.
Andre Russell had another failure as he managed only 9 runs from 7 balls. The KKR bowlers now have the daunting task of defending the meagre total against the explose batting of RR.
