Asked to bat first, the Babar Azam-led side on account of valiant half-centuries by Mohammad Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman posted a total of 176 runs on the board.
David Warner shifted the momentum towards his side by smashing Imad Wasim for 17 runs in the over. After the wicket of Mitchell Marsh in the 7th over, it seemed that Australia will be on the back foot. But Warner continued smashing bowlers all over the park to put Pakistani bowlers under pressure.

During the 8th over of the innings, David Warner made the crowd go bonkers as he smashed big six on the dead ball. It was during the first ball when Mohammad Hafeez lost control of the ball and it bounced near his foot and then bounced once more before Warner gave the charge and decided to take a toll to smoke it over deep mid-wicket.
