India once again lost the toss and they were invited to bowl first in the match by the Kiwis. The Indian bowlers did a fantastic job in the match and restricted New Zealand to 251/7 in their 50 overs.
Chasing the target, Rohit Sharma took India off to a sensational start as he blasted 76 runs. After his dismissal, Team India came under a bit of pressure but all the other batters made great contributions to steer India to a historic victory.
Meanwhile, after getting iconic white jackets following the triumph, Jay Shah presented the trophy to Rohit Sharma. Then, Kuldeep Yadav was handed the trophy by Rohit as the team celebrated together on the stage.
Harshit Rana was the next one to get the trophy before it was passed on to Virat Kohli. After that, Kohli handed the trophy to Rohit Sharma and all the players erupted in joy during the trophy celebration.

The previous ICC Champions Trophy 2025 match between India and New Zealand was held on March 2 and it was the last match of the group stage at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
