Australia’s explosive batter Travis Head, who is currently playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in IPL 2025, recently caught attention off the field as well. In a recent interview, the Australian star opened up about his admiration for Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, naming him as his favourite Indian cricketer.
Head has been inconsistent with his batting form, which is a concern for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2025 season. The Australian batter has managed just one half-century in five appearances. He registered scores of 67, 47, 22, 4, and 8 as Hyderabad suffered four consecutive defeats in the tournament.
Travis Head Reveals His Favourite Indian Cricketer
In an interview given to a cricket website, Travis Head was asked about his favorite Indian cricketer. The left-handed batter picked Rohit Sharma as his favorite Indian cricketer. Head also stated that he’d love to see Rohit play for Australia.
When asked which franchise he’d choose if not SRH, Head named the Mumbai Indians. His responses delighted Rohit fans, who expressed happiness. The comments have generated plenty of buzz online, especially since Head plays alongside other Indian players like Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma at SRH.

Travis Head’s Performance for SRH in IPL 2025
Travis Head kicked off IPL 2025 on a high note. He continued the form that helped Sunrisers Hyderabad reach the final last season. The batter smashed 67 off just 31 balls, leading SRH to a convincing 44-run win in their opening match against Rajasthan Royals.
Head scored 47 runs off 28 balls in the next game against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). SRH lost their next four matches, leaving them with just one win from five games and placing them at the bottom of the standings.
Head has scored 148 runs across five matches at an average of 29.60 with an impressive strike rate of 189.74. His numbers suggest aggression at the crease, but consistent big scores are now crucial if SRH hope to revive their season.
