Taylor has appeared in 450 games for his side across all formats.
Ross Taylor, the core of the Kiwi batting line-up retired from international cricket on April4, after playing his last game against the Netherlands. The 38-year-old had broke out the news of his retirement back in December 2021, when he had said that he’d be retiring at the end of New Zealand’s home season. Fittingly, in his last New Zealand, Ross Taylor took a catch to seal his team’s triumph over Netherlands by 115 runs.
Taylor has achieved laurels with the team, and his numbers speak for him. He’s the highest run-scorer for New Zealand in the Test and ODI format with 7,684 and 8,602 runs respectively. In the T20I format, he stands at the fourth position in the list of top scorers for his team, with 1,909 runs.
The veteran’s contribution to his team since his debut has been very generous. He has 40 career international centuries to his name, alongside three double centuries and 93 half-centuries. He has also served his team as a captain in 13 Test matches and led his team to victory against Australia and Sri Lanka in away games.
