Cricket South Africa’s direct Qualifications in World Cup 2023 is now in Doubt as they Pull out from ODI series against Australia in January.
Cricket South Africa Requested to Australia Cricket Board that 3 Match ODI Series which Scheduled in Mid January Next year should be Postponed because the Seires is clashing with their New T20 League.
New dates have been unable to be found, with Cricket Australia CEO Nick Hockley indicating the
upcoming summer of cricket was already too crowded.
“It is disappointing that Cricket South Africa will be unable to contest the ODI series in January,” he said.
“That said, we are delighted to be hosting South Africa for the three Test series which includes the Boxing Day and New Year’s Tests and with the comprehensive schedule of international cricketthat will take place across Australia throughout the summer.
With pull of this Series now South Africa’s Qualifications for Cricket World Cup 2023 in India in Doubt. Proteas currently are on no 11 in ODI Super League where only eight teams will directly Qualifying.
