Former Indian captain Virat Kohli, who has continuously backed and made a difference within the advancement of women’s cricket in India, has encouraged social media to show their support for the Women in Blue dor the up and coming Women’s World Cup 2022. India will play their first game on the 6th of Walk against their arch-rivals Pakistan at the Cove Oval in Unused Zealand. The Mithali Raj-led side has won both of their warm-up games against South Africa and the West Indies and is looking way better ahead of the huge tournament.
However, they suffered a 1-4 defeat at the hands of New Zealand in the five-match ODI series and they have had to work really hard to end their losing streak in the format. The bowling department looks a little bit weaker still and the experienced Jhulan Goswami will have to do the majority of the damage. The short boundaries in New Zealand are expected to facilitate a lot of high-scoring games and India will have to be aggressive in their batting approach as well.
