Pakistan Head Coach Saqlain Mushtaq is confident that Team Pace attack can produce better result, they has the capability to perform good in absence of Star Left arm Pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi.
Shaheen Afridi recently ruled out of Asia Cup 2022 due to knee injury. Mohammad Hasnain replaced him in the 15 Man squad of Pakistan.
Afridi was adviced by Medical Team to rest for 5 to 6 weeks. Pakistan Management didn’t want to take any risk because they want him fit for T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.
“Since last few years, these three have been executing the plans and demands of Pakistan team really well. The captain, me as a head coach and the entire support staff has confidence in their abilities. Shaheen used to lead the attack, but these three also on a given day. Or situation can change the game,” said Mushtaq at a press conference.
The team will be travelling with coaches from the high-performance centre, said the head coach, whose “Working Together” ideology is the basis for this.
“The coaches at the high-performance centre will go up with the main side. And see how things done. So when they return to the high-performance centre. Tese coaches will be able to work on lines of that philosophy,” he added.
Coach denied any concerns about the UAE playing conditions.
“In professionalism, these things come and go. Sometimes you play during day, sometimes at night. And sometimes it is white-ball cricket, sometimes it is red ball. Sometimes it is the longer format, sometimes it is the shorter format. Oppositions keep changing. It is our requirement that we do not think about this. Just think about our plans, adapt and also execute them quickly,” he added.
The tournament will kick start from 27th August with the game between Sri Lanka and Afganistan.
On Sunday 28th August the most awaited game between arch rivals Pakistan and India will be played at Dubai Cricket Stadium.
