Daniel Sams won the Player of the Match award in the 59th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022), which was played between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday, May 12.
I just figured out that, I was focusing on the batter too much and not on my strength – Daniel Sams
Daniel Sams said that his first few games for Mumbai Indians (MI) didn’t go very well but then he reflected on those poor performances and made improvements. He asserted:
“The first few games didn’t go to plan. Had a little bit of time to reflect on those performances. I just figured out that. I was focusing on the batter too much and not on my strengths. That was something to work on.”
“We have different plans for different batters. We spoke about that – using short balls to all batters.”
“(Batting at No. 3) I was really excited to get the opportunity, that’s something MJ (Mahela Jayawardene) spoke about to me today. The whole IPL, beautiful wickets to bowl on. It’s been enjoyable, today’s pitch was bowling-friendly.”
