In the latest development, MS Dhoni has stepped down as Chennai Super Kings captain just days ahead of the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League.
Ravindra Jadeja has taken up the captaincy mantle from MS Dhoni and will be driving CSK from the front. The all-rounder has been one of the center parts of the team for a long time now.
Earlier, Chennai Super Kings retained Ravindra Jadeja for Rs 16 crore, thus becoming the most expensive CSK player. CSK also retained MS Dhoni for Rs 12 crore, Moeen Ali for Rs 8 crore and Ruturaj Gaikwad for Rs 6 crore.
Ravindra Jadeja has been part of the CSK since 2012. The productive all-rounder is in the form of his life as he etched his name into the record books of late. He scripted history in the Mohali Test against Sri Lanka where he scored 175 runs and took 9 wickets.
On the other hand, MS Dhoni will proceed to offer his assistance as a wicketkeeper-batsman. He will too be looking forward to advertising significant tips to Ravindra Jadeja in the upcoming season.
Under MS Dhoni’s leadership, CSK have won as many as four titles since the inception of the IPL. CSK won four IPL titles in 2010, 2011, 2018 and 2021 respectively.
