Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians (MI) have been fined for maintaining a slow over-rate in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 opening encounter against Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals (DC).
The second match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 was played between Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians (MI) and Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday, March 27.
In an official media release by the Indian Premier League (IPL) it was stated that Mumbai Indians had maintained a slow over rate during their clash against Delhi Capitals (DC) and as a result, the skipper of Mumbai has been fined INR 12 lakh for the offence.
“The Mumbai Indians have been fined after they maintained a slow over rate during their TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 match against Delhi Capitals at the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai on March 27,” an official statement released by the Indian Premier League (IPL).
“As it was the team’s first offence of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences, Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma was fined Rs 12 lakhs,” the statement added.
