While the opener alongside Lewis will be Jaiswal who performed well for Mumbai against Oman in the recently concluded T20 series. The middle-order batters, Sanju Samson, Parag, and Dube would look to b the backbone of the team, if the overseas players fail to perform against PBKS. Both Australian fast bowler who made their way into the Punjab Kings after fine performances in BBL have opted out for playing in Phase 2, while Dawid Malan has kept T20 World Cup as the priority. Three players will feature in their debut IPL, namely Nathan Ellis, Adil Rashid, and Aiden Markram.
