Big blow for India as Harshal Patel is all set to miss the Asia Cup 2022 and also doubtful for the T20 World Cup 2022.
Harshal Patel is mainly known for his Variations and he is a specialist T20 Bowler.
He is currently dealing with side strain and Likely to miss Asia Cup 2022 and also doubtful for T20 Worldcup 2022. The squad for Asia Cup 2022 is likely to announce on 8th August Monday and Reportedly Harshal Patel is out of Consideration.
Harshal Patel is name in the squad for West Indies five match T20I series. He didn’t play four matches of the series. He is currently with Team India in Florida USA.
On Saturday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) provided an update on Harshal injury status stating that he “has not fully recovered from his rib injury and is ruled out of the remaining two T20Is against West Indies.”
He is dealing with side strain and may miss the T20 Worldcup in Australia in October and November because this injury required atleast four to six weeks of rest and rehabilitation.
His chances on playing in T20 Worldcup will decide on how quickly he recover from injury.
After the West Indies Tour he will Join at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).
Harshal Patel made is debut for Team India in November 2021. He played 17 T20Is since his debut. He last played against England on July 10.
Deepak Chahar, who has been out with a hamstring ailment since February. But selected for the three-ODI series against Zimbabwe later this month, is also likely to pick for the Asia Cup squad in place of Harshal Patel.
