Former Indian Opening Batter Virender Sehwag appointed as Gujarat Giants Captain and Former Indian Cricketer Gautam Gambhir named as India Capitals Captain for Legends League Cricket which will start from September 16th at the Eden Gardens Stadium.
“I am excited to get back to the cricket ground again. We are extremely excited and also eagerly waiting for the draft to pick our team,” said Sehwag.
“I wish Legends League Cricket all the very best and also looking forward to the tournament,” said Gambhir, who retired from all forms of professional cricket in 2018.
There will be total 16 matches played in the league in 6 different cities. The League is first time to be played in India.
The Previous edition of the League is played in Oman last year.
Legends of the game will participate in the league. To celebrate India’s 75th year of independence, World Giants and Indian Maharajas will face off in the opening game on September 16. While former World Cup champion and captain Eoin Morgan will captain the World Giants. And also former captain Sourav Ganguly will captain the Indian Maharajas.
