Former Bangladesh Women’s team skipper Rumana Ahmed has claimed that she has been dropped from the forthcoming tour of Sri Lanka, rather than resting as the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) stated earlier. During the tour, both teams will play three ODIs and three T20Is, which will take place from April 29 to May 12.
“Certainly I feel like I’ve been dropped. Look when you give rest to someone certainly you discuss it with that cricketer. It is entirely their (team management) thing what they have given me (rest or not) but they have not discussed with me so I felt (I am dropped),” Rumana told Cricbuzz on Thursday.
“They have not discussed with me, like you sit out (from this series) or things like that, so I cannot say anything at the moment (regarding their motive). I am saying what I am feeling but they (team management) know the rest,” she added.
“Look this is going on for long time (seniors are not welcomed) as the vibe is now time is for juniors and it is a natural thing in Bangladesh and it is nothing new. I think in our country, we are lacking when it comes to respecting seniors and you will see in other countries seniors are treated for their experience and there is not much talk about their fitness,” she added.
