The 44th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 featured a thrilling clash between the defending champions Gujarat Titans and the David Warner-led Delhi Capitals at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday, May 2.
Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra was of a similar opinion. He opined that Delhi’s win against Gujarat has barely kept their qualification hopes alive, and with the top four teams losing points recently, the David Warner-led side is still in the tournament.
“If you see the last four matches, whichever team was there in the top four lost. Chennai Super Kings, Rajasthan Royals, and Lucknow Super Giants lost, and now Gujarat Titans have also lost. Delhi have got a win. They are alive, but the team is still on the ventilator,” Aakash Chopra said in a video on his YouTube channel.
Everything that was going right for Gujarat fell apart this time: Chopra
“Everything that was going right for Gujarat fell apart this time. This has happened a few times now this season. They are still secure, but losing three matches at home is not a great story. However, they are still a good side,” Chopra said.
