During his amazing spell of 3/22 against Bangladesh in the ongoing Asia Cup 2022 tournament in Sharjah, Rashid Khan went past Tim Southee of New Zealand to become the second highest-wicket-taker in T20I cricket. Southee had 114 wickets in 95 T20Is for New Zealand and now Rashid Khan has 115 wickets in just 68 T20Is for Afghanistan.
After making his debut in 2015 for Afghanistan, Rashid had become the fastest to 100 T20I wickets as he got to the landmark in just 53 T20Is. Rashid Khan also holds the record for the most wickets by a spinner in T20 cricket. He has 472 wickets and is only behind Dwayne Bravo, who leads the list with 604 wickets.
