Cricket Australia has announced 15 Man squad to defend their T20 World Cup Title and fir India Tour. Included Power Hitting Specialist in their squad.
The biggest news is that Tim David has been picked for Australia World Cup squad after he switched from Associate Memeber Singapore to Australia.
Only one change from the T20 World Cup 2021 Squad.
Spinner Mitchell Swepson left out and Hard Hitting Middle order Batter Tim David Included in the Team.
26 Years old Tim David is playing T20 cricket all around the world and mainly known for his late hitting and finishing skills.
Australia will look for benefit at the home conditions after his inclusion.
The inclusion of David welcomed by Australian Chair of Selectors George Bailey, who also attributed Swepson’s exclusion to the demands and circumstances of the team.
“Tim (David) continues to establish himself with some quality performances in leagues around the world. And also earning a place in the squad. He is a highly gifted, natural ball striker who will add extra batting depth to the group. That has had a lot of success in T20 cricket.
“We expect him to play a similar role to that he has been playing in the past few years.”
“Mitchell Swepson was unlucky to miss out based on conditions in the UAE at the last World Cup. There we planned for tired, spinning wickets compared to what we would expect are good batting conditions. Along with the larger grounds in Australia.
T20 World Cup 2022 Campaign will kick start from October 22 as Australia face New Zealand at Sydney Cricket Ground.
In the 2021 final, all-rounder Mitch Marsh stole the show with a 50-ball 77* in an eight-wicket victory in Dubai.
Australia will also play three match T20I series before T20WC against India in Indian Conditions.
The series will start from 20th September and the last match will be played on 28th September.
