Former Australian spinner Shane Warne recommended England to make four changes in their lineup ahead of the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on December 26.
England is currently down 0-2 with three matches left and they need to win all three to get the Ashes Urn.
“Congrats to the Aussies on a hard fought win. England have a lot to do heading to Melbourne as they are now 2-0 down. They must start by picking the correct team including a spinner for the conditions. Crawley, Wood, Bairstow & Leach would make my team. For Oz Cummins for Neeser,” Warne tweeted.
As of now, a 5-0 whitewash is on the cards unless England turn for the remaining Tests. The first two Tests were a total stomping with the Englishmen playing from behind the entire time.
Nasser Hussain says things went wrong before the match started
Ahead of the second Test at the Adelaide Oval, England opted to go in with four medium-pace bowlers and Ben Stokes. Jack Leach was left out following the poor outing at the Gabba but having no spinners in a lineup reeks of desperation.
“I think it went wrong again before a ball went down. For the life of me, I can’t work out how on a green top in Brisbane you win the toss and bat and play a balanced attack with a spinner – and leave out Broad and Anderson – and then you turn up to a flat, dry hot one in Adelaide, with no cloud cover throughout the Test match, and you play five seamers and leave out your spinner,” Hussain mentioned to Sky Sports.
