RCB came out all guns blazing as openers Virat Kohli (30) and Faf du Plessis (38) came out all guns blazing and scored 62 runs for the opening partnership. But after that they had a mini collapse and saw them tumbling at 123/4. Mahi Lomror played a decent knock of 42 runs and a finish by Dinesh Karthik (26*) helped RCB post a total of 173 runs on the board. Maheesh Theekshana starred with the ball for his side and returned with the figures of 3/27.
Chasing 174 to win, CSK openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway gave a nice begin to their team. However, as soon as Gaikwad perished, no other CSK player managed to stay around on the wicket. The Kiwi opener Conway stroked an amazing half-century. However, it was not sufficient for the Yellow Army to win the match.
