Veteran IPL batsman Ambati Rayudu has become the 10th Indian batsman and 13th overall to score 4,000 points in the Indian Premier League.
Rayudu, who played for Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings in the IPL, needed only 2 points to reach the milestone. He did it comfortably against Gujarat Titans.

Ambati Rayudu finds himself in an elite list of players after having come to the landmark of 4,000 runs. Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Gautam Gambhir, Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni, Shikhar Dhawan, Robin Uthappa, Dinesh Karthik, Ajinkya Rahane are the other Indian players to have come to the milestone.
Rayudu has been a imperative part of Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings whenever he has played. He was chosen by CSK in the 2018 Mega Auctions. He did well for them as an opener but was at that point moved down the middle order in ensuing seasons.
He was not retained by CSK ahead of the 2022 mega auctions but was bought back by them for more than 6 crores in the auctions. CSK has not done well in the season so far but they would hope that they can turn things around quickly.
