Former Sri Lankan cricketer Mahela Jayawardene step down from the position of head coach of Southern Brave in the Hundred tournament.
Under Mahela Jayawardene Southern Brave lifted the trophy in Inaugural edition of Hundred Tournament in 2021.
Mahela Jayawardene has not left officially, but he has spoken with the management about it, according to ESPNcricinfo.
Mahela Jayawardene was named the global head of performance for the entire franchises associated with the Mumbai Indians in the world.
Jayawardene has been the head coach of the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League since 2017 and team has win three titles under him. Because of his successful stints with Mumbai Indians management had promoted him to a global role, with the MI expanding their Franchises in the overseas leagues. The Mumbai Indians are owners of MI Emirates in the ILT20 League and the MI Cape Town in the SA20.
After his Promotion Mumbai Indians appointed Former South African cricketer Mark Boucher as their New head coach for the IPL.
