CPL 2022: West Indies star batter, Shimron Hetmyer has been appointed captain of the Guyana Amazon Warriors team for the Caribbean Premier League 2022 (CPL).
Hetmyer played for Guyana Amazon Warriors since 2016. He has played 47 games for them and scored eight half centuries.
Shimron Hetmyer is a important player of West Indies Set up and also has captaincy experience.
He lead West Indies U19 Team to Title Win also.
Speaking on his appointment, Hetmyer said:
“I really happy to be appointed captain of my country franchise, and also excited to lead this group of men! I can’t wait for the CPL to begin.”
Chairman of the Guyana Amazon Warriors franchise, Dr. Bobby Ramroop stated, “We pleased to appoint our first Guyanese captain since the 2013 season. Hetmyer has been a main part of our set up over the years. And also we believe the time is right to have him lead the team.”
