The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the 15-players India squad for the Asia Cup 2022 on Monday, August 8.
15 Players Squad Led by Captain Rohit Sharma will include all the senior Players who were rested for the recent tours.
Big Boost for India as Virat Kohli is back in the Team and he will play his 100th T20I Game against Pakistan on 28th August.
KL Rahul is fit and named in the Squad, he retained his Vice Captain Spot in the Team.
A sad news for India as well that senior Pacer Jasprit Bumrah Ruled out of Asia Cup 2022 due to back injury.
Harshal Patel was also ruled out due to side strain.
“Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel were not available for selection owing to injuries,” the BCCI stated on Twitter. “They are currently undergoing rehab at the NCA in Bengaluru.
“Three players – Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel and Deepak Chahar have named as standbys.”
After his brilliant Bowling Performance in recent West Indies Series young left arm pacer Arshdeep Singh named in the 15 Man Squad for Asia Cup.
Main Spinner Yuzvendra Chahal also back in the squad after being Rested for 5 Match T20I series against West Indies.
Regular players like Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya and Surya Kumar Yadav are also included.
Players like Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan missed from the Squad.
Sanju Samson had a decent performance in last few matches but Ishan Kishan is second Leading Run getter for India in T20Is in 2022.
Dinesh Karthik named the second Wicket Keeper batter.
The Asia Cup will start on August 27 in the United Arab Emirates. While India’s campaign will get began on August 28 in Dubai versus archrival Pakistan.
All the Asian teams will look this Asia Cup as their Prepration for the Upcoming Mega Event T20 Worldcup in Australia in October -November.
